I couldn't avoid it. $40 for a reasonably well modeled/sculpted, pretty modern female portrait was a bargain. This bust is 13" (33 cm) high by 8" wide (20 cm). I love the multicolored glazing of this piece.
It is signed "SAL 16-01-58"...couldn't find any known artist by this name or signature style...I only hope this is Gala portrayed by SALvador Dalí LOL...anyway, it is still a great decorative piece, now living in my loft.
I think it special too!

Phil, Queen Elizabeth visited Bazil 10 years after this sculpture was made, in 1968. On that occasion, she inaugurated MASP, the Sao Paulo Art Museum.
