This would be a restorer's dream. I found this in an estate sale in the bottom floor of an old workshop. Some screws hold pieces together but the dovetail joints are fabulous. The hand crank is missing but can be found on eBay. I'm not going to clean it up for fear of ruining anything. The receiver states the following,"Patent Appl for Kellogg No. 282059 L." Under that is says "Property of the Hawkeye Telephone Company, Des Moines, Iowa." I'm on the fence on what to do with this, but it's fun to imagine where this was and who used it!
Being a telephone collector since 1965, I would restore this Kellogg. Your wall phone was manufactured around 1910. Kellogg Switchboard & Supply Company made telephones for several telephone companies, Hawkeye, Union Telephone & Telgraph Co. Globe Automatic Telephone Co, etc.
