So I found this beast 10 years ago in Bethlehem Pa. 1/2 the leather destroyed looking pathetic. 35 W, 27H, 24 Deep Huge
I stripped it .Remounted( Nailed and glued)portions of the leather that I could save to pay a little tribute to what she once was. Did some additional nail work(2000 nails total) and of course I burned an eagle into the front(1st time I burned art work on a trunk). More burnings on the top of an indian design that I found and this became one of two trunks that I do all of my Trunk'n repairs out of .It has the top tray and envelope inside in tact. But I use it daily as my tool chest outside. It is one of my
Favorites. Sorry for the pics. they were full pictures on my computer don't know whats up.

If I only had such a tool "box", I would be afraid to touch it with dirty hands! A real beauty! I'll trade my MAC tool box for it. Can always buy another MAC! You did a fantastic job.

Thanks B/Buss .Its' one of two that the wife calls the twin towers on the deck in the back yard(part of the man cave). It's got a lot of pirate going on figured an island guy like you would dig it. .Sorry No trade my Macs in the garage.Coolest part is the original trunk handles with hardware on the ends of the leather u just never see that.

Can't blame me for trying! OK, I'll throw in 2 copper bracelets & 2 sheep. I've gotten tourist's wives cheaper! LOL (also traded them later for less than I paid).

23-24 yrs I've been trying to save enough money for the departure tax. Saved enough up last yr. & they told me at the airport that my Eastern Airlines return ticket wasn't good anymore. Blew the money on beer & have had to start all over!

Drill, great trunk, and it's from one of my favorite manufacturers, Romadka Bros. Milwaukee, WI. FYI, the 1874 patent is for the stay hinges patented by Anthony Romadka Dec. 29 1874. A far as I know Romadka did not sell any of their patent pieces, they used them on their trunks only. The trunk itself is probably from the late 1890's. The unique handle ends are also a Romadka exclusive (I have only seen these on their trunks) and they are quite ingenious as they would allow the replacement of slider handles without removing the handle loops. I would think these would have been able to be patented, but have yet to find one.

Thanks Jim I thought it might be Romadka a long time ago but even more so when a I saw your site. your right on the pat.date too It was dark and I wasn't wearing my glasses. My real wonder is the other round top trunk That I posted.after this one. I have only seen it once before on this show and tell .The label read manufactured explicitly for Pottatr Co. Mongomery Ala.(It's real blurry and maybe wrong) I can't
find a thing on it. Maybe You might know .I'll look back on the site and give a number on the post if I can still find it. Found more info on the Faber too so I'll call
You soon.(Ha! we won't get off the phone again.)

You might alter you search by pronouncing it "Maunt-gum-rie". LOL.

Thanks B/B2 need to check. my spelling
Jim- post 653 (currently until someone else posts) 3 years ago is the only trunk close to this round top that I have seen.I think
it looks to say Pottak Co. or Pollak /Pollar Co. can't tell anyway checked your site and no label . Thanks for any clues as you would know best.
