Some idiot painted this trunk white(thank god he used latex). I drove from NJ.to western Mass. to save it. I repaired the rat hole on the top pounded an additional 300 cooper nails into it. burned the designs in. Made some custom lid lifters, still looking for the 2 pieces of 3'' handle hardware that are missing. Then I'll put the handles back on. painted the metal silver galvanized,metallic copper mixed with bronze duronic 3 different color stains .

Hmmm! Goats are good lawn mowers but, I'll never part with these two,my wife would be too happy to see them go.
C'est la vive! Just a moment! Have a vegetarian girlfriend who will keep the lawn down but she requires salad dressing. Think about it.

Drill... did this trunk have any brass studs on it when you purchased it?
There are no brass studs on it.
Down the center of the slats I used 1" hammered nickel finish furniture nails(Painted copper color).
7/16 real cooper tacks make up the designed areas over the burn,Between the burns is black latex
1"1/2 rosettes as well as 3/4 nickel finish.
All of the finger nails are original as well as slat nails,and clamps.
I just like american trunks ornate. the more studs the better.
