I was given this doll as a gift from my Aunt. I love her! She is unmarked as far as I can tell. I'm curious to find out her approximately age. I'm thinking her little dress is original. She does have nylon socks, but no shoes. She is perfect. No repairs needed. Is she a composition doll? Her upper body is cloth with stuffing. She is 20 inches long.

She will be marked on back of neck in raised letters . As they used the mold the letters became hard to see as they begin to blend into the smooth surface . Take a pencil and rub across the back of neck if you feel any raised spots . She is a Mama Doll and would have a crier box in belly . Made of Composition dating 30-late 40s .
Many Companies made these types of dolls and some have features that help ID them yours is a common looking face . She looks USA made possibly Horseman. ideal, American character . There are several she could be .
It is hard to tell from photo if face is Hard plastic or compo . Does it have any thin lines in it ? Arms and legs are compo for sure . I will await your reply . Also google Mama dolls composition and you will see many like her :-)
Here is a simaliar one with hard plastic head these were made into the 50's

Thank you for all the information! I've done the pencil trick but I still do not see any markings. Her face does have fine lines, especially in the back of the neck area. I did have the size wrong, she is 17 inches long, not 20. Now I know I have a composition mama doll most likely made in the 30-40's.
I do have two other adorable dolls from my Aunt. One is by Effandee "Lovums."
The other is a mystery. I'm going to post her picture.
Thank you very much!
