This is a cool Silver Elf marked 925 on his collar. I have no idea what it was used for. It has a nice retention mechanism that works great when it is snapped shut. It is about 2.5 inches tall and about 1.5 inches wide, and it weighs 4.4 oz. The greenish tints that you see are not really there. It must be a reflection. It has some writing on the bottom, but I can't make it out. If someone knows what this piece was used for I would appreciate your input.
Thanks
It's a match safe.
See the striker on the bottom
Also called a Vesta case.

Thanks pops52! Why didn't I think of that. Thanks again.
It's a nice one!
Thanks pops52!
Isn't he Mr Punch?
Great vrgdc, agree with Vetraio, it looks like Mr Punch :)
Mr Punch? That's a new on on me.
Very nice and he looks like Punch to me also :-)
Vetraio50, Vintagefran, and Manikin,
I just looked up Mr. Punch and I would have to agree that it does look like Mr. Punch. Thanks for your input.
If he is Punch I wonder if it was part of a set and Judy was also made ? He is a cool dude for sure :-)
He is Punch :-)

Thanks Manikin! I looked at the link that you provided. It's very nice, but different than this guy. It says at the top in product description 100% brand new. I didn't think that still made match safes any more.
I guess it is referring to its condition not its age.
I also saw a old one but couldn't bring link up it sold on ebay a year ago . Exactly like yours . The link doesn't say if it is a repro of older version which I believe it is .
Hey Vrgde, Check out this link:

His email address is in his profile. He might be able to answer any questions you may have about your match safe. I have contacted him before regarding match safes.
Thanks pops52 and Manikin. I'll look into these leads. Thanks
Not sure if there was a Judy case, but there was a dog that Mr Punch had in the show called Toby.
He's definatly mr punch , continental silver from europe , I have a devil head one that ill list soon also .925 silver .. I would say yours dates mid 1900s whereas mine is 70s/80s..
