1972 Bulova Accutron bought new from my father in 1972. Lovingly maintained. Backstory: Dad was an aerospace engineer who worked with NASA during Apollo as a radar engineer responsible for hooking up cameras to radars to track spacecraft ascending.
Although Omega Speedmaster Professionals were the watch to wear, dad swore up and down the Accutrons were much better. They were. Hyper accurate and durable. NASA made a huge mistake not taking Accutrons into space. Period.
He kept this Accutron until he died, actually asking when the morphine drip hit him for the last time, "Where's my watch?"
In bad shape due to lawn mowings and engine tunings, I sent the watch in for a complete restoration. It now runs perfectly and beautifully.
Great story for your watch!
what a beautiful posting and so sorry about your father!! and this is a very beautiful watch!!
