I don't know much about this board other than it is a 6' Strickland Board. I am estimating it is from the late 70's. Any further info would be greatly appreciated!

it could be from cocoa bch FL. robert strickland was an older guy that made many boards and funshapes, longboards, etc. he died an early tradgedy in a scuba lobstering endeavor in his 50's early this decade. his boards are outstanding, and are considered collectors items already, maybe not the small funshape u have tho.
Bob was indeed a legendary shaper working primarily out of Cocoa Beach. He was originally from the Lakeland area. He shaped for some of the top 70's and 80' brands as well as his own label. The board pictured would not be catagorized as fun board, it was just a surfboard thats what they looked like late 70's early 80's. Bob was one of the only guys that did classic longboards all thru the shortboard era and did really well when the longboard came back in popularity in the 90's. He was a golden guy rough as hell but a big heart and will be missed. Drowned while Kayaking on the west coast of florida.
Very cool board. Tom is correct about the kayaking incident and both are correct about the man and his shaping ability. But I think this board was built by another Strickland unrelated to Bob from the Jacksonville area. Still a great board. Just get the fin turned around the right way and you're good to go. Mike Whisnant up in Jacksonville might have info on that board.
That is a board made by Winnie Strickland in Atlantic Beach Fl. Late 70's. The air brush was probably done by Jim "Chips" McClurg. I think I remember this board as I worked for Winnie during that time. Very cool board! Lots of good memories for me from looking at it.
