Found these items at goodwill, I know they are not complete sets but I already had some candlewick peices and some of these will become part of my collection was unsure about the handpainted wine glasses if anyone knows where i could find shoot me a link thanks Teddy
I'm am desperately trying not to collect Candlewick. I had a full punch set which I sold at a vintage Christmas sale to a gal who fell in love with it. Know she is now collecting it as it gobsmacked her that hard. This looks fab!
to me when I see a glass item referenced as candlewick I automatically think of Imperial Glass. It seems that everyone is interpreting any glass with beads to be Candlewick, which I suppose is intended as a reference to the embroidery style of typing knots that look like beads. There are many Imperial Candlewick look-alikes or go-with patterns, and some currently in production. No offense intended, but I'm not seeing any Imperial Candlewick here.
How would i be able to tell it is imperial?
you have to study lots of 'real' Imperial Candlewick; Replacements has a large collection of it. There is a good website for lookalikes: http://candlewicklookalikes.com/. The piece to the far right looks to be Hocking 'Berwick'; AKA: Boopie. I have some of those painted beaded stem wine glasses but no idea who may have made them.
Thanks cakes see what your saying, ebay descriptions are confusing, they call anything with a glass bead a candlewick item. Thanks for the info though will be posting some more of my fenton items with full description when i get back to louisiana.
