I found this doll when I replied to a Facebook rummage sale add. This doll was not included in the original post. When I went to collect the other dolls, I seen this one faced down on her steps. I asked about it and she said I could have it for 5 dollars. She said she received this from a relative when she was a small girl, but that it always scared her. So I took her home with me. She is now sitting on my shelf with some other dolls.
My son does not really like dolls, says they freak him out, so I was really able to freak him out by changing the face when he left the room, of course without his knowledge..
I really love dolls but do not really know much about them or their value..
She is a newer porcelain doll . Likely from 1980's when these types were being mass produced some in fine quality others not great quality porcelain or painting . Yours was a one fashioned after the Vintage three face Trudy doll . Not much value and many like this were made in China. and Tiawan. If she is not marked on back of her neck by maker I would say her name was on the box or a hang tag but her country of origin should be on her . Look in seam of body also they may have sewn it there .
Thank you. I stripped every piece of clothing off. I was not able to find any marking nor any country name. She came with her dress, a mesh like slip, footies, her bonnet, and even a mesh diaper. I added a new photo. She has porcelain hands and face, and she is stuffed with some sort of stuffing.
She was most likely only marked on box or a paper hang tag . So Maker is unknown as several companies copied the idea of the Trudy Three face doll. I do think she was not a big hit with kids ! She is from 1980-90's and if you google Trudy three face doll and search through lots of photo's you might spot your exact one but it will say a unmarked doll :-( These newer ones don't sell high but you were safe with your 5 dollars . The main thing is if you like her and as all collections buy what you like and enjoy :-)) Nice to met you . Oh she is probably stuffed with small pieces of foam chips .
