    This was given to me by a friend, it is a beautiful vase, it does have markings on bottom but can not make it out.

      Thank you, it is a very pretty vase. I posted the bottom of it, I can not see it to well, but maybe those with the trained eye will see what I can not :)

      I can not read this myself but there are many kind folks here that are experts in this area that may be able to assist you on this. :) Hang in there, hopefully someone will come along soon and help you with this beautiful vase.

      The mark is almost impossible to see, but to me it looks more German or Austrian. I’m not an expert but I don’t think Derby used impressed numbers, some older pieces has incised numbers. Could be Robert Hanke. Here’s an example of a similar piece, however his mark is green on this piece, red was used in the late 19th, early 20th century

      Thank you guys for this information. I really like this web site. I have so many things that I want to post, that I have tried to google but was unsuccessful.

      Do you think a piece like this should be insured?
