Clock left to me by my grandfather. Looking to find out as much info as possible. It is a heavy black stone material I assume to be marble. Two pillars on either side. Stands approx 12 inches tall by 13 inches wide and 5 inches deep. The front says Gaydon and sons and under says Kingston-on-thames. There is stamped 63987 on the inside of the back door. I would like to find the value if possible. Any info would be helpful.
As pre Forum guidelines...appraisals of value not to be discussed, but very nice mantle clock
Nice clock!
My *guess* is that you have a British Black Marble or Slate Time & Strike Mantel Clock probably from circa 1900 give or take 10 years.
Depending upon the market and running condition, probably worth somewhere around $150 give or take $50.
