I recently inherited this from my mother who sadly passed; the vase was part of a pair which belonged to my grandmother (one vase has broken). It may have belonged to great grandmother prior to this so I am curious to find an approximate date of manufacture. I did ask details of its history when I was a child but unfortunately can't remember now! I don't think this vase is of any great value other than sentimental.
Base is stamped Made in England (indented) with 30B in raised lettering. There is a small number 48 in black which may have been added at a later date?
I am unsure of any other features which may assist. The roses seem to have features of both a decal and hand painting.
Thank you in advance for any leads.
No signature on the decoration? It almost has a Royal Worcester look to it, with the very old blue crescent moon mark under the word ENGLAND, however I don’t think Worcester ever used embossed marks, and the country of origin was added until the late 19th century
Hi maryh1956,
Thank you for your comment and something further to research. There isn't a signature anywhere on the vase. I had noticed the crescent on the base but wasn't sure if this was significant. I searched Royal Worcester vases and can certainly see the similarity.
