It's wood. Can't tell if it's nailed (I assume it is) because they've covered the edges with their label. I do NOT remember where I got it. It could have possibly been my grandpa's.
Looking for a date, maybe more about the manufacturer, is this a legit Cuban box, maybe an approximate value.?
I just had a baby and then got laid off AND now I have to move. I've kept my jewelry in this for years but decided I need to start getting rid of some things.
So I was hoping to get as much info about this box as I can.
Any (as much as possible) info would be great! Not trying to sell it on this site!!
    thanks,
    Sarah

I can't give you a value but I can tell you I buy these at the Wagon Wheel flea market for $3 to $5 here in Florida. I strip the ads off and use a wood burner to put a design on them. They sell good on eBay. You need a unique inside design for a money item. Find the clown and get $5000.00. Cigar boxes are fun but only wooden ones.

LOL, find the clown? Literally? Am I really looking for a box with a clown?
Because I WILL start hunting, er, $5000....
I'm not sure about this one either. I never know about these sorts of things.

I am totally serious. I have seen the box sell for over $5000.00 on eBay. They are extremely rare but they are out there. I search every weekend for one.

My normal rule of thumb is to be sarcastic. That is unless I see something as needing some positive input. If you are collecting these there is a hidden fortune waiting to be mined. Forget the cardboard ones. Go for wooden. I buy them for no more than $3 take them home lay out mu design on the computer and use carbon paper to transfer the image. Then my wife uses the wood burning pen. Least we have turned one for is $71.

Buy any old box with an image inside if the price is right. Don't worry about the ads on the outside look at the inside of the top. You could hit a jackpot.
