Although not labeled I know this bowl was made by Folk Craft Koshida Glass and dates around the 60s.
Koshida have made glass in this art glass style but also made a range of pressed glass, including plates and bowls. I have not seen any Koshida glass produced recently.
I am still trying to research Koshida and the only company I can find that may be the parent was established in 1949 in Tokyo but now produces steel, no ferrous and electronic components. Dunno if it's the same lot or not.
This bowl/basket is made from blue glass cased in clear, and like other most other Japanese art glass has been moulded initially and then hot worked to finish.
I have previously posted a Folk Craft bowl the same shape as this but in green, gold and clear, although this sweetie is smaller.
Length 33cm (13in) height 13cm (5in)
VERY BEAUTIFUL!!
Love the blue colored basket vase!
Thanks Sean and CC - big hugs!
Ohh Ken if only I collected jewelery!
My house is a glass dust trap - if there is a flat surface a piece ends up on it. lol
I have packed some away but all that happened is I see the space and head off to fill it. I admit to addiction.......
Thanks for the comment!
Love your taste in glass! This blue is just...rich!
