Found this on ebay..I collect vintage wristwatches. I am just getting into 70s pieces from primarily a 1930s to 60s collection. This is my 2nd advertising piece. The 1st was a Sunbeam appliances piece with the Sunbeam logo. This one is less distinctive because I dont think this is Valvolines Logo? Never the less its a handsome watch. i think it will get plenty of wrist time.
Is there an ® or ™ next to the Valvoline? - It is possible this was presented to an employee of Valvoline.
Very nice advertising diver's watch. The markings on the rotating bezel has faded. Thank you for sharing and would like to see more watches in your collection.
Hi.aghcollect..no trademark or anything else next to the valvoine name on the dial. I wonder myself what exactly the watch was for. A giveaway? If it was a presentation piece you would think there would be an inscription on the back right?
So Im sure open to suggestions as to the purpose.
geo26e..your welcome and when I have some time I will put up more watches. I will start with my other crossover piece. The 'Sunbeam'. Interesting that it is also with a Hamazawa movement. Makes me wonder if there was a company out there making these ad pieces with various sourced parts? Because most often you see a branded watch ( say..Bulova ) with a company logo on the dial..not as in these two cases just the Advertising brand name only. ??
