Have you looked for collectible books about identifying jewelry. I've had a lot of luck in Good Will andother thrift shops as well as at Flea markets. The most I've paid for a collectors book has been $5.00.....what a deal. New they are $30.00 plus.

Yes actually! I currently have 7 costume jewelry books right now and have some saved on my wish list on amazon.com!! I have found some of the jewelry I own in them like Trifari or Coro pieces. I have come a long way in my collecting from all those books and research online! I learn something new pretty much every day! Have you been collecting a long time?

You are having a lot of fun and that's what it is about. I've been collecting for about three years, first buying just what I liked at yard sales not knowing how successful I was at times with "my catch." Then it became a hobby and education looking into what I had collected. From there, it was an obsession and a joyful one. As time goes on, I tend to collect specific jewelry pieces. Right now I am in my Scottish jewelry phase. My Mom was from Scotland so it is also a genealogical venture to be part of that heritage. Recently I attended an Estate Sale and the owner was a jewelry, etc. collector so I was able to purchase several collectors books for $3.00 each.......a great day. Keep your eyes open and you'll see that you will instinctively know what is good amongst a bunch of junk. Happy hunting.
