This beautiful little vase came from Salvation Army. It's only 6" tall and has a tiny little neck giving it it's teardrop shape. Done in a pale yellow gold color, the glazes crystalline structure creates a pattern on the vases body like frost on a window pane. It's marked Boydston on the bottom. There are examples online but there are very few of Jack Boydston's vases. Searching online returns a few pieces for sale but not much info about the artist life or prices for his work. I noticed a few other artists using this glaze technique as well. Quite a wonderful little piece. -Mike-

Check Jack Boydston
Thanks art.pottery :).... will do !
Jack Boydston was my grandmother and mother's neighbor for decades (1950s-1990s) in Santa Barbara a block from the beach in Monteceito. He was a close family friend. I am 100% positive that is his signature and his pot. Not only was he a wonderful artist, he was one of my favorite people on earth-- kind, gentle, smart, funny, curious, always learning something new. He would be so glad that his pot found a happy home with you. Page R.
Thank you so much Page for the info about Mr. Boydston. I really do love this little piece. :)
