This is an extremely old British vase. Sergio bought it for me for a mother´s day on 2008, the dealer has now a Bar on Belgrano Street Córdoba, so I do not know the price. The bronze base retains some rests of the silver plate. Once I found a similar base, It seems it was on Ruby Lane but is no longer available there, I reproduce the picture that I could download at that time (2010). The same angry swans but leaf gilt are in a very complex set offer on ebay.uk ( http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Victorian-Silver-Plate-Swan-Epergne-Centrepiece-Dish-Tureen-Set-/261374101179). But what I really adore is the glass, with several tones of blue and with bubbles, controlled bubbles and no controlled at all. The pictures do not show all the feelings this piece of glass can transmit: the waves of a warm sea braking at the shore, or rains over the cristal in a sunny day. The glass is very thick, there are several black ashes inside it and it has a rigaree that I tried to clean of the dust till I understood that it is inside the clear glass (fourth picture). That’s why I think it has been done in one of the many small glass artisan of England.

The base with the swans are in my eye what make this item. be safe

Yes Zowie, without doubt the glass is very very heavy, and all the base is done as to support it. It is a pitty because it would look prittier the glass without such a base.

There is a good chance in that but in this case the base seems to pull it all together & sets it off
