The very best part of collecting is meeting interesting people and making new friends.

My collector friend Andrew recently brokered a deal for a pair of these old signs and was kind enough to include me. He is a longtime collector of old Railroad pieces, and put considerable experience and skill and patience to work in getting a great deal done. He's taken to Coca-Cola deals like a duck to water.

This is one of twenty signs found in varying condition by seller's family at grandma's house nailed up behind a wall. Seller traced ownership of the home back to be employees of a local Coca-Cola bottling plant. So this might be a case of excess stock of signs being used as insulation not too long after they were manufactured.

I don't mind the nail holes one bit. Surface is very near original condition, with just enough scratches and bends to be indicative of age. It is a beautiful sign.

A unique feature is the green highlighted embossing and border on the back side. I haven't seen this before and wondered if anyone has any thoughts. According to Andrew, none of the other signs had this feature.

Good Times, Great Finds... and Swell Friends. (Thanks again, Andrew!)

Thanks Perry. Any idea why the maker added that green to the back side?

Thank you Tommy! 8-Pack endorsements carry a lot of weight with me, so I appreciate it. I think 2 or 3 of the 20 were in a little better condition. This one is a pretty nice example from that batch.
