Lamp is 14 inches high without narrow glass top. Glass top adds 9 more inches. Base of lamp is 6 inches wide from point to point and 5 inches from flat side to flat side. Oil bowl is 6 inches in diameter. I recently got this lamp at a "guy yard sale". It was out of place. No info on it's history or current value or any knowledge whatsoever. I've looked and looked on Google & eBay. I found lots of "trophy oil lamps". Nothing similar. No writing on it anywhere. The glass top is new. Was hoping to replace it with something more appropriate ..... if I knew what that was. Also, seems it needs restoring if value dictates. Don't know about that either. Completely in the dark. Not a lamp person...yet. Hoping someone in cyberspace would recognize the glass etchings, or the bugs , flowers & whatever creatures the handles are made of. (fish, lizard?) Thanks, Maxine (Maine)

Apparently I clicked on the unsubscribe link by mistake (didn't have my glasses on) and now I won't receive any more comments. I've asked for help getting back in. But I did get your Phil. Not sure whether I can post better pictures yet. May have to start my item all over again. But thanks for your comments. I think you have the lion pegged. The tail looks lion and the head as well, as you suggested. I looked at it from the side. Hoping this all will be able to help find out the origin of the lamp and who made it.

I did oil it , Phil. Mostly accidentally by having some of the oil spill out when I was
looking on the bottom.........But that was after I took the pictures. Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it.

The plate on the bottom reminds me of B&H. If you are able to loosen the nut and take the plate off you might see the mark on it. It is for Bradley and Hubbard. But then again, it might be Miller.
