I found this painted wood bull at the Hwy 127 "world's longest" yard sale and I just couldn't pass him up. I believe the seller came down to Tennessee from New England area or New York. He had no information on it, though. There are no markings that I have seen. I found a reseller on Etsy who has a dog that is definitely made by the same person, but they have no information on theirs either. They are in Connecticut so I believe it must be someone around that area that makes them. Anyone recognize it or have any ideas about who may have made him?

Folk art carving from Guatemala. A standard design, which explains why you see more than one that appear similar. The "starry" eyes with lashes all the way around are an identifying feature of Guatemalan painted carvings, commonly seen on their painted masks.

Oh, great! Thank you both for the info, Manikin and CanyonRoad. A step closer to figuring this one out.
