Delicate china brightly colored with gold trim. Only mark on back of all bowls is a gold 69. a metal stand holds them up for display. Two small bowls have been broken through the years.
I remember we would have Grandma Hanes at the house and eat salad in her bowls. Apple salad with hickory nuts that Grandma helped to pick out of the shells!
The broken bowls were placed in bags and kept all these years by my Mother, Lena Smith, who passed them on to me before she left this earth in 2008.
This set belonged to my Grandmother Mary Margret Coleman Hanes, pictured at the right. She most likely received them as a wedding present, and that would place them in the early 1900's.
Ora and Mary Hanes settled in Mason, Mi.
Very nice and great story too!
