I bought this watch primarily for it gray dial. It is NOS stock from India,
A Timestar ..all steel with a low gray finish to the dial. But it has an interesting history. India banned the import of watches sometime in the 70s to allow HMT Indian watches to dominant the market. So the some countries came to India. This is a French Indian collaboration, with a French Fontemelion ( spelling is probably wrong here) movement and a case and dial made in India. So that allows the company to mark it as made in India. In past years many companies did the same thing ( before the ban) West End Watches is an example. Favre Lueba - Sandow is an other. Back as far as the 1920s I think. Maybe even before.
I think its a handsome watch. It has a fairly good mechanical movement and it was built tough enough to survive Indias often hot and steamy climate.
More watches to come. Enjoy! P&P
