I'm sorry, but I have to inform you that you are a "collector". It is incurable, but many here suffer from the disorder as well , so support is available.
They look great as a group - could spend hours going through these.
Welcome to CW!
Yeh collector is nice way to say it! Thanks but you don't know what any of the keys are?
Watch fobs, door keys, piano, small and large pad locks, china cabinet, trunks, keys to wind clocks.... you even have a sardine can opening key in there... basically anything that had a lock on it over the past 100 years. To know more you would have to inquire about each one individually. Fun collection... probably have a few keys to my trunks in there somewhere!
I found a huge collection in our old house from 1802, My Wife's family keys of 2 house's.
Thanks to all I know lots of keys but is there ever to many???!!! Well yes maybelol
You have done well. Most people overlook keys, yet most people sell them for pocket change. They are a good investment whether to sell or to trade. An antique with a lock but no key is worth more with a key. If you are patient you will certainly make a nice profit on keys. You won't retire but dollar for dollar a nice profit. I am getting old and recently sold off all but a few of mine. Always buy old keys if you can get them right. They will pay you back.
