This extraordinary charger was bought to Martin Cerda a young dealer in 2004 for about U$ 100, he told us it was French although unmarked and that it was not hand painted but impressed. I love the motif: two little boys playing with a rabbit. You know we have two boys that at that time were children and they could be like a portrait. It is very heavy and has 40 cm diameter, three holes to hang it, last picture. When we arrive home and look carefully with the glass we could see that it was hand painted, and the technique or the sightseeing was similar to sever porcelain Limoges marked LP we have. I was sure that this was a sort of reproduction of some popular painting and I found that it Children with a Rabbit by Proudhon Pierre Paul, circa 1804-14 is housed at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia (third picture). The picture got into the Hermitage in 1923 http://www.arthermitage.org/Pierre-Paul-Proudhon/Children-with-a-Rabbit.html. How old is the plate? I bet that it is about 1870 and it is French, but I am not sure. Has anyone some idea?
