Estate Sale find as I was leaving empty handed I spotted this at the register, so off we went into the sunset! Exquisite Boat.

I have found that it was made in Portugal perhaps? But I do not think this one was made in China so not listing it under that sub.

Fine quality with extreme work and craftsmanship on this Antique Silver w/Gold washed Filegree Cargo Boat with original patina. Enameled Green accent at base. Numbered plaque on inside of sail M.R. 2870
    Measures 6 1/4"L x 2 3/4"W

I agree I think it was made in Portugal but was not sure if the art itself depicts a Portuguese vessel

I think it is a Portuguese boat called a 'rabelo' , used to transport Port Wine from the Douro Valley to the cellars near the city of Porto.

Yes. SEAN 68,have reason. This is a traditional portuguese silver or gold work, called "filigrana", and this work depict the boat "Rabelo". Into the boat we can see the barrels wine, The ship sails are decorated with the tipical "portuguese hearts".
      Enjoy this article.
