I may have mentioned before that Sanyu Glass is still made in Japan, but is now marketed under the name Narumi Fantasy Glass.
That means that they have been producing amazingly hot worked pieces of glass like this for at least 50 (probably 60) years.

This vase is a common colour group for Sanyu, with blue, yellow and crimson mixed together in the vase to make an absolute rainbow of glass.

I have a number of pieces by Sanyu in these colours, and they are all beautiful.

This is by far the biggest. The Japanese seem to have appreciated hefty glass and this one with it's huge lumps and bumps of clear comes in at an amazing 26cm (10in) and 3.2kg!

Seriously awesome vase, not just in size but beauty too.

Thanks so much Mike, Ken and Rose!

My other Sanyu pieces in these colours were from Australia, but this monster came from Japan. I couldn't resist it, even with the postage cost (as you can imagine for something this heavy!).
