I bought this rare piece a few months ago to one of the better considered antique seller in the city, he took over the shop from his father when he passed away, near Plaza Colón. I think that it is a British penholder entirely handmade and hand painted in soft paste, it is not porcelain. It is thick but translucent (second and third photography). The base has been polished. I feel it is English because morning glory was a popular design . On Ruby Lane there is a desk set with a pen holder with very similar shape and dimensions that is being sale as European and they say it is a mystery http://www.rubylane.com/item/410517-1366/Hand-painted-porcelain-desk-set-x96. I would appreciate any commentary about it.
I try to put it against the light tho show that it is transparent translucent although it is thick. Thanks Riply206 I am trying another picture thats why there is a place left.
