Lions head gentleman's chair

I am having a hard time dating this chair! I have a matching ladies chair. Anyone have any ideas? It has been reupholstered, there are springs in the seat. I'm confused because besides the lions heads, it's not very ornate. If it weren't for the seats, it almost seems like a reproduction.
