There is a vase identical to these in one of the Kralik vitrines at the Glasmuseum Passau. They also have a piece in this decor in one of the "unknown" cabinets. I've also seen this decor attributed to Karl Schmoll von Eisenwerth for Poschinger. There is also a very similar shape in the Schliersee sales books. I'm going with Kralik for now, because that's how Passau has called it- but this is not deco-era stuff - these vases are heavy, double-cased, with very strong iridescence, and are typical of work being done in the art nouveau period. I was very pleased to get them - the detailed work involved has to be seen and held in person to be truly appreciated.
WOW!!!...Stunning!...:-)
very nice indeed!
Warren.....I almost gave you a run for these. BUT I have the rose bowl version which I was told was von Poschinger. I will post it for comparison.
Frank - I saw your awesome bowl and was wondering where you got the Poschinger info
Warren....it was on a dealer's website from Texas. He called it Poschinger and had some "backup" info. but I dfon't remember what it was. He was just probably wrong. I'm changing mine to Kralik.
Really great pieces Warren, I too was almost a contender, just wasn't sure enough on the attribution at the time to pull the trigger.
Great to see them stay in the family so to speak :)
Awesome vases
