10" tall by 12" wide. Would like any information such as its age, and who was the maker? The only marking is on the bottom. it appears to be a fish.

I have this same piece! I say the same, the pattern on mine is slightly different. I purchased mine at an estate sale. Never did any extensive research on it. It's a very beautiful piece, as is yours. I will post a pic of mine when i get back to my house later today.
This looks similar to Mikes posted a little while ago:

They are lovely!
Thanks for the comments. So it appears that I have a Chinese fish bowl or planter. I can't imagine using it as a planter and covering up the beautiful goldfish inside with dirt. Do you think that this is of foreign or domestic origin?
I think it is definitely Chinese made and probably quite contemporary, but I can't help you identify who by. Sorry!
I would use it as a fish bowl in the garden, or with a water feature.
I agree, those fish are too gorgeous to cover up!
