I really like these WW2 Sweetheart items that are made from Silver Australian Florin coins.

The coin has been cut into a heart shape and is suspended from a silver 1st Lieutenant's rank bar.

The soldier's wife probably proudly wore this piece on the homefront.

Take a look at my other items to see several more of these Florin pieces from WW2.

Hmmm... no name on the front. A polygamist afraid of getting his gifts mixed up? :)

Hey Scott, I easily see Chris's point. Best be safe than sorry! I was helping a girl get dressed once & handed her a pair of panties from the floor. She said, "Those aren't mine." LMAO!

Maybe he had to pay for engraving by the letter, he was a cheapskate and "My Wife" had less letters than "Elizabeth"

Chris, in that case it would have been "Beth" and been even cheaper!

Ok, last theory, I promise. It was one of those quickie marriages before deployment, and he figured if she wasn't around by the time he got back, he could always re-gift the piece.

Ok, chris-- that one is probably correct!

I saw several of those type of marriages during my years in the Army.

      Hey, Scott!

My name is Sera. I'm a Canadian student making a video project about sweetheart jewelry in the first and second world wars. This is a gorgeous example, and I was wondering if I could use an image of this pin for a few seconds in the video that will be posted on youtube? It'll be about four minutes long and the pin would be featured for about 30 seconds or less. You would be credited for the picture and included in my bibliography at the end. It's totally okay if you aren't comfortable with it, I just thought I should ask.

      Thank you so much!
