My recent thrift store find.

I just found these at a thrift store the other day. I have been trying to figure out what type of metal they are made of and if they have been altered from their original condition. I know nothing about them or their history, but I love them & was hoping to give them to my mom to go with her vintage green décor, but I'd like to be able to tell her what they are or were..... Help.
