This is a "Pfeiffer und Dillers" Kaffee Tin from Germany - circa 1910-1920
- The tin measures 11" by 6 1/4" by 4 1/4" deep - The lid (inside and out), and all four sides are printed with the company emblem and logo which includes "Kaffee~Zusatz~Essenz" (Coffee~Extra~Essence) - The lid is hinged at the back and there is a chain attached inside to the box and lid.
*** Pfeiffer und Diller Kaffee Fabrik was founded around 1873 and based in Horchheim bei Worms am Rhein, Germany. - They ceased operations around 1943. - These tins are estimated at the 1930's-1940's era however there is one in the "Technoseum" (State Museum of Technology and Work) in Mannheim Germany identified as circa 1910-1920. - This tin belonged to my great grandmother, then my grandmother, my mother, and now is in my possession. It has some scratches and small dents but in very good condition.
