This figure was found ten years ago in a pram shed which I acquired when I moved in to my London flat. It is one of two bronze figures discovered inside in a small metal safe box which was left by the previous elderly lady resident who had passed away. Over the years, I have made several attempts to locate any surviving relatives, but I've not had any success in finding anyone.
The figure is very ornate and stands 16cm in height including the marble base which measures 8.5cm sq. The figure weighs 1.200kg and the appears to be in two parts bolted together then secured to the base.
Judging by the lady figurines elegant appearance, she is a member of the Royalty! And, in my opinion, the right hand of the figure been held up and out, looks like it should be holding something. In all probability, I'm assuming it would be a something like a fan. Whatever it is that is missing, it doesn't detract from the salubrious look and stunning beauty of the figurine.
Although my knowledge of antiques is very limited and are of little interest to me. I can't deny that I've grown quite fond of this little lady and I'm curious to find out more about her. There are no manufacturers or artists marks to be found anywhere on the figurine.
