Little is known with certainty about Kent Art Ware, or KAW for short. Identifying it is straightforward enough since each and every piece I have seen is stamped on the bottom, "Kent Art Ware - Japan". Judging by KAW's limited number of different pieces, and its mostly Art Deco designs, it was likely produced for a relatively brief period within the 1920's or '30s and certainly before Japan's 1941 involvement in the Second World War. Considering the name if nothing else, Kent Art Ware was exported to English speaking countries, primarily the USA. It is virtually never offered for sale outside the US.
Dave, do you have any info about these specific pieces? They're beautiful.
Potrero, all the details about these pieces and all thirty items in my Kent Art Ware collection are on my website, http://www.KentArtWare.com. Thanks for the question and the thumbs-up!
I love the turquoise ram -- my fave color, and my astrological sign. All your Kent Ware pieces are cool.
Love the kittens.
