Oval drop leaf table with 4 chairs. Caster wheels look to be porcelain. 4 chairs, two with arms. Any info you have would be help ful as I am about to buy this set for $40

Are you thinking this has a lot of age? A photo of the underside showing the dropleaf support and markings will probably show more.
Form what I see, it looks like a good modern (made in the last 30 years or so) kitchen table/ chairs.
$40 sounds reasonable-- use it and enjoy, solid wood is made to last. A new one would probably run you 10X higher.

The thing that stood out to me were the porcelain casters. It led me to beleive that it may be older. Does anyone know?

It is not older but it is worth $40 if you are going to use it rather than trying to turn a profit. One word of warning, if you have kids you are better off passing on the set. The chairs won't tolerate leaning back in them or being used as a step stool.

Never count on one part of the whole to date it. I have caster from pre WWII in my shop I could put on anything I can drill a hole in, new or old. You need to examine all of the parts that make up the whole item and gauge them on their own merit. Your pictures are pretty useless for the most part.

My recommendation is that you do some research BEFORE you buy. Go to the library, get some books and study on antique furniture. Do some online looking as well.
Find WHAT you like and then delve into that particular style. Visit some antique shops/ antique refinishers and ask questions.
I see many folks on here buying and THEN ASKING.
That technique is a good way to waste your money.
Bargains are to be had and with KNOWLEDGE, you will find some.
Without the knowledge you are wasting your time and money.

Thanks, I have been doing hours of research and I have not purchased this yet and won't be. I just thought someone may be able to help me make a decision and that is what I got so I thank you.
And also, I am not sure why I am getting such a negative response..... Sorry my pictures are "useless". Not very nice.. Not nice indeed. I think I have changed my mind and don't want to part of the antiques world.
Your pictures don't show any of the details that would help to determine the age of the piece; however, there is enough to see it doesn't have age.
CONSTRUCTION is key to determine true age. For a table-- the underside and any joints or brackets that hold the legs or extend leaves are important. Any markings are useful.
There are MANY queries like yours on here on a daily basis-- "Is it an antique?" and "What is it worth?" are the usual questions. Most posts contain one blurry or distant ad photograph (like yours) that do little if anything to help in making a determination.
You got the advice you needed, for FREE and then complain about the manner that the FREE advice was given!
By your own admission the help was beneficial-- I hope that is your take away.
