This trunk was found in a barn in Kalamazoo, Michigan. History unknown, manufacturer unknown. It's not like other wardrobe trunks I've seen - it's small and light, it doesn't hinge open, there's no shoebox and no drawers, and that funky accessory bag in pic #3 seems unique as well.

I think its outer case is aluminum - badly gouged in some places - and it looks like all the edges were covered in a very fine leather that was painted silver. I thought it was all rust at first until I took a closer look.

I'm surprised there's NO manufacturer info anywhere on this trunk. Does it look familiar at all to anyone? I'm guessing maybe 1930s, based on similar suitcases I've seen..

I have seen this latch hardware before as well as both handles shown. I believe it to be European ,Probably a London manufacturer. Finnigans is a name that comes to mind but I can't be sure some belgian manufacturers did use this hardware as well but mainly in brass. Sometimes I have luck searching on Pinterest to find similar trunks to obtain a label but it's a crap shoot. Good luck I'll keep an eye out if I see a similar upright Cabin steamer.
