I picked up this awesome creepy metal chair from an antique shop, I cannot find anything on google images of this chair, it must be rare. I was wandering if someone could tell me the history of this chair and what era it may have come from and which hospital?
It has a label on it "F W equipment australia specialists in patient handling equipment Brisbane 265 2011."
Also I found someone had scratched "GC49" into it as well.
    What is this chair!!!!!!????

Looks too flimsy to be used to restrain anyone.

Looks like a multi- purpose medical chair. Arm rests are typical for blood drawing.

Can't tell if the big ring is attached or just sitting next to the right side (viewed) arm rest.

Based on construction and label, I think this is mid to late 20th century.

Awesome, well the man from the antique shop thinks that a bowl would have sat inside that ring.

Looking at the welds and the crank knobs tells me it isn't old and parts are missing.

See the arm piece can be put as a leg piece too...
And you're right, the head piece does move up and down.
Unclear of the metal it is rusting a little.

I wander if I researched the company who made this chair would know any answers?
(The label on the chair; see above in my description for the name of it)
