For some reason, today I started researching the coins that I keep in my car to use for spare change. I'm not a coin collector (or wasn't, I'm hooked now I think!) so I Google searched the years and types of each coin and found a 1983 P quarter! Then another one! and then a 1982 P quarter! I don't know how "rare" they actually are since I had 3 of them in my change holder but, none the less, it was exciting to find them!
What do you think is rare?? - These are common circulating coins.
1982 P - mintage 500,931,000
1982 D - mintage 480,042788
1983 P - mintage 673,535,000
1983 D - mintage 617,806,446
Circulated quarters of these dates are worth no more than face value - the prices shown in the Red Book are over-inflated based on the fact that the U.S. Treasury did not issue "Official Mint Sets" for those two years. However, mint condition coin sets were available directly from both the Philadelphia and the Denver Mints as "Souvenir Sets" - (actual mintage figures are unknown for these "Souvenir Sets" since the quantities are included in the full mintage figures for those years).
Aghcollect, I think you're being trolled.
