This piece was being sold as Moser Royalit, and while that was a good try, the truth is that this piece was made around the time Ludwig Moser was born (or at least while he was a toddler).

The design books of Harrach Hütte in Neuwelt show cut glass of this type, Rosé with thick clear glass underlay, starting around 1835 through about the mid-1840s. Furthermore, according to Das Böhmisches Glas, 1700-1950, Band II, reports from the early 1830s indicate that oval bread bowls were made at the glassworks, particularly in the second quarter of the 19th century. (plates II.101 through II.109).

The glass is 3/8" thick, with several different cutting techniques, continuing onto the bottom of the vessel, and in amazing shape for a bowl that is approaching 180 years old.
