Just found this in a 1937 scrapbook of postcards and other souvenirs from a trip out west. The signature seems a bit off but it also seems odd someone would forge a signature when they have nothing to really gain from it. Also, it seems strange someone would write his name on a postcard that already bears his name. Any ideas?

The signature has many of the characteristics found in other examples of autograph.

I personally believe it is hand signed (For whatever that is worth)!

Here is an example of a similar signed photograph, so maybe these were retailed on site:

The auction example brought just under $1k-- it is a significantly larger photograph, but yours should have a fairly good value as well.

A great artist shown with his iconic work-- Congratulations on your great find!
