I bought this asian lady at a Lexington, Kentucky antique store for about $40 a year or so ago. She is about 36" talk, hollow, "chalky" and her chalk comes off on your hands when you touch her. What is it? Age?

Think it is a modern copy of a chinese Tang era "fat lady"
Google for "tang fat lady" images.

Thank you for your information. Are these made in China, Mexico, US? Why does the color come off on my hands when I handle it? And I am assuming it is chalkware? Would you have any ideas about my Japanese Samurai, posted today under "Asian"?

Sorry, I know nothing about chalkware, I just identify the representation.
