Picked these beauties up at GW this morning. The pink one is quite heavy because of it's solid designed back. The green one is much lighter and delicate with it's open framework. It has a huge aurora borealis crystal in the middles that changes color between blue and green. The petals of the pink one have a moonstone like quality with rose colored crystals. They are both unmarked but I think the green one might be Weiss. It also looks like older construction so I think it's more a 50's piece where the pink one seems more 60's or later. Not really sure just taking a guess. They are very impressive though. -Mike-
You know Mike I wear a brooch nearly every day, but you and Ken have forced me, yes, forced me!, to always seek out more.
I am always envious of your finds.
Thanks Karen :).... I guess I have Ken to thank for this new little hobby. It kind of fills in the gaps when I'm not finding much else. I do miss my art pottery. porcelain and glass. There just hasn't been much around, but there's always plenty of jewelry to look at.
Thanks Val :)... That's interesting. I never thought about there being reproductions. Just figured these large pieces were out of fashion and most you find donated to the thrifts would be from my grandmothers era. I guess the saying is true.... "Everything old is new again".
beautiful!!!
Thanks Ken....lol Well, you are on CW so you inspired me. It's contagious !
