twin metal bed

Husband used this metal bed frame in the early 50's. Said it was a bunk bed but doesn't know if it was new for him. Head board & foot board are fairly light weight metal that was painted/coated?? black. The bed spring/frame is fairly heavy (reason why I didn't move/dust it off; please over look junky garage). It is not covered it rust, that's southern red clay dust. Thanks in advance for any assistance on what this is, how much it's worth. Have searched a good bit online & haven't found anything similar.
