Re-discovered in our storage room the other day, this Stanley No. 943S 1-pint thermos in steel blue is great, but the box graphics are the real show here. Looks like it just came down off the store shelf! Between the picnicers, the porters and the penguins, everyone is enjoying a warm beverage thanks to William Stanley's invention! We are dating it by the New Britain, CN factory location, to which the company moved in the early 30's.

I've been collecting and researching these quite a bit, and I might be able to help you date it more accurately. Please let me know if you're interested!

Thanks for the offer, fark. This thermos is back in storage (the wife brings it out in the summer months for decoration), so it is not immediately at hand. I would be interested in knowing how these can be specifically dated, however. Is there a code somewhere on the thermos like with Coleman lanterns?

Yes, there are different codes in different patterns in different places depending on the era and whose hand's the Stanley name was in over the years. I'd love to see more pictures of it when next it comes out and help you date it! I haven't seen all the sides of a box, and especially not one in that condition. It's all very nice.
