The thing I love about this large rectangular vase is that they took a sky blue ground and used it as a backdrop for a Winter scene that pulled me into it the moment I saw it. The enameled scene continues around the entire body of the vase - a snow-covered cabin at the base of the mountains in what appears to be an alpine landscape. This one is not marked or signed in any way, but the shape, designated as "Jersey", is shown in Francoise-Théodore Legras, Verrerie Artistique et Populaire Française, by Marie-Françoise & Jean-François Michel, Dominique & Jean Vitrat (see last photo scan). Based on this, plus the fact that Legras did other (more well known) Winter landscapes, I am going with the Legras attribution for now.
Super nice!
Very nice Warren! I saw that piece when it was up and it reminded me of the signed piece you have.
stunning!!!!! winter wonderland at its finest!!!
Very beautiful!!
Interesting - I found this shape in the Legras book - it's called "Jersey" - but the examples in Legras were light blue and red crystal. So, Legras is now a serious contender.
Warren , this is very very beautiful!!!! :)
But wait, those are Rossler :)
