Is this a sweetheart ring? RAF?

Hiyah - this ring looks as though it may have once been something else and as been bent round to become a ring? I've got a silver RAF sweetheart pin from WWII and this is with it. Is it a sweetheart ring does anybody know? It does seem a little too big but then I've tiny fingers - it just fits my index finger though - not sure what the metal is either? And the head of the bird looks like it's going the wrong way to me to be RAF but again, I'm no expert in the area. Gratefully receive any info forthcoming. Many thanks,
