I picked this up at Urban Ore a few wks ago. i don't know anything about it, but i think it's pretty cool and a neat size for a lamp. it's heavier than it looks and i'm sure it works great, by the way it's made. it's five inches across x four inches tall [not counting wick] any info appreciated...

Hello, I think this is an old "baliza" by querosene for cars.
In old times when you needed stop in the dark roads, people used them to light up the area around and do the work in the car.
I hope you can understand me, sorry for my english.
      Thanks so much for share!

I saw one with the cap in my brother´s house years ago and I remember that I asked him, "Oh, what is that looks so heavy and old"? He told me all that I wrote you.
Of course that were used in emergency on these alone and primitives roads.
Its really good to know that "collectors" used these to burn citronella.
      Mosquitos away its excellent! :)
Thanks so much to you ho2cultcha, everyday I learn a little more.
